The Tascam 85-16 Multitrack recorder with dbx is a 1" analogue machine that can produce high quality, low noise recordings. It uses 1" tape greatly reducing running costs when compared with 2" machines.

The dbx unit provides 30db of noise reduction, there are switches that allow the dbx to be by-passed when recording percussive signals such as cymbals, hi-hats, maracas etc.

Inputs and outputs are unbalanced are via unbalanced phono connectors, operating level is -10 db
