Great sounding monitoring system, widely used in the film industry. DOWN TO £1,950

This is a great job, we get to hear some of the best music ( Steely Dan ) played through the best consoles and monitored using the best control room speakers There are some very good speakers on the market but few can improve on the M&K active MPS 2510 P-B speakers which we have available.

MK Say :

M&K Professional’s top-of-the-line MPS 2510P compact powered reference monitor is designed for music, mastering, broadcast and film sound post-production in medium-sized control rooms (3,500 cubic feet or a monitoring distance of six to eight feet). The bi-amplified MPS 2510P is THX pm3-compliant and features switchable 80 Hz highpass filtering and continuously variable gain control.

Last year we were visited by 2 clients who came to hear a Cadac E Series console that we had on demo with a pair of M&K speakers, they were very impressed by the sound but could not determine if it was the desk or speakers that were responsible for the audio quality ( it was both of course ) and made us replace the M&K's with some different monitors to allow them to assess the console, they ended up buying 2 Cadacs from us, a studio console and a sidecar which we converted to a summing mixer for them.

The MPS 2510 P's are widely used in film mixing studios, inc Lucas Film Studios, as well as control rooms, here are the details :

Each cabinet has a Balanced and an unbalanced input plus a Balanced and an Unbalanced output.
Variable gain -6db to + 6db with a variable / fixed level switch
There is a 80 Hz High Pass Filter than can be switched into circuit when the MPS 2510's are being used with a Sub Woofer, when the HPF is being used the speakers become more efficient becaise they are not trying to reproduce signals lower than 80 Hz. These lower frequencies are handled by the Sub Woofer.

The MPS 2810 Sub Woofer has a Balanced input via an XLR and an stereo unbalanced inputs using Phono sockets, there is a level control covering the range - 6db to + 9 db, there is also a variable low pass filter that can be switched into and out of circuit covering the range 50 Hz to 125 Hz.

The 2510 P's are not large but can produce a big sound :

Dimensions:
12.5” H x 10.5” W x 16.13” D (with heatsink) 14”

Max Output Level:  112 dB @ 1 meter
