The Earthworks TC30 is an extremely small-diaphragm that gives this microphone zero proximity effect. It is wonderful on acoustic guitars, as a stereo pair drum overheads, kick drums and can even be used for vocals. An original mic, looks like a silver toothbrush.

The Earthworks TC30 is an Omni-directional condenser microphone capable of recording high audio levels, due to the small capsules it does not suffer the proximity effect. Earthworks recommend it for use on drums, bass, guitars, brass as well as on acoustic instruments. It has a very flat frequency response making it ideal for use as an instrumentation microphone.
