The Beyer M260 is a Hyper Cardioid microphone, Tapeop.com say :

Incorporating a unique high energy transducer which has a flat frequency response of 50 to 18,000 Hz, the performance of the M 260 is approached only by very few professional microphones in the upper price bracket.

Other commentators say : "Unusually for a ribbon microphone, the M 260 has slight presence accentuation in the upper mid-range, which makes it sound lighter and more assertive than [the M 130 and M 160]. Due to the fixed low cut filter the M 260 is designed for close miking.

NB : This is a ribbon microphone and must NOT be used with Phantom power which may damage it, it is fitted with a Tuchel connector and comes with a Tuchel to XLR cable.
