The KM86 is known as the Motown Microphone as it was widely used in the Motown studio to record many different types of instrument, watch the You Tube video below
The Neumann KM86 has dual KK84 capsules, there are 3 different polar patterns and it was one of the the favourite microphones back in the glory days of Motown in the 1960's.
We have 2 KM86i microphones for sale, I do not know what the i denotes, I think it may refer to the connector, I believe the original versions were fitted with Tuchel connectors and the i version with XLRs however I may be wrong, I often am.
These are very good microphones in nice condition. The silver one is in a Neumann case but has no badge whereas the grey one has a badge but no case.
Take a listen to the KM86, the Motown Microphone as it is known
