CURRENTLY BEING REFURBISHED :
The Cadac E Series is a great sounding console, very similar to the A Series but with better facilities. This console was originally a 66 input desk which we are in the process of converting into a 30 input E Series console with 10 Sub Groups plus 10 Main groups and 12 Aux buses, 2 with Quad Panning
The console was originally used in the Show Miss Siagon in the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane in London's West End, the show ran for over 4000 performances after which time the console was removed and spent the rest of its time in a recording studio in London.
1/. 30 Mono mic/line inputs with Lindahl transformers and superior mic amps, 8 Aux sends and 3 band fully parametric EQ plus High Pass filter with variable filter frequency. VCA control faders.
2/. CCM Unit to control fader snap shots
3/. 10 Group modules with Main & Sub groups
4/. 2 FX Return modules with Quad Panning
5/. 1 6401 Communications module with 3 outputs plus sends to aux's
6/. Converted power supply to Low Noise
I don't want to keep banging on about this but Cadac consoles are particularly good and have a great sound, the A, E & J types were deigned for theatre use but work particularly well in a DAW recording studio.
The E Series is similar to the A Series consoles that we have been selling recently, they are high quality consoles designed for Theatre use but work extremely well with DAW systems.
They excel in 2 ways :
1) Supplying high quality audio via Lindahl transformers and the Cadac celebrated Mic Pre Amps
2) Providing a superior summing device particularly when mixing your DAW recordings.
Many owners of 80’s & 90’s Cadac consoles would place them above Neve consoles of the same era, they are extremely well made and provide high quality audio but at a much lower price. So why do they sell for less than Neve ? The reason is that historically Rupert Neve used to promote his consoles in the USA and they gained a great reputation there, Cadac were of equal quality but they were not marketed in the USA and are not so well known over there.
There is no YouTube video of the CADAC E Series so watch this video made by SpectraSound where they talk about their J Series Cadac, the J Series is a great transformerless console, the E Series is equally great but with the added advantage of Lindahl transformers in the input modules
