I remember an interesting TL Audio story. Around 2000 Sting recorded the 'Brand New Day' hit album co-produced by musician producer Kipper, in those days Sting owned his own SSL which was flight-cased and followed him around the world as he visited his many houses. Kipper the Co-Producer of the album took his own 16 channel TL Audio VTC hybrid console with him while he was working on Sting's album.

Sting's engineer asked Kipper why he took his VTC when Sting owned an SSL, reputed to be one of the world's best consoles at the time, however I was since told that the upshot was that ALL audio tracks were recorded through the TL Audio VTC hybrid console and the mixing was done through the SSL, had the VTC been automated and had more inputs it was likely that the entire mix would have been done on the VTC because they do sound fantastic.
