CADAC A Series 20 channnel

Classic 80's console. Lundahl Balanced channel direct Outputs & Marinair balanced group outputs. This is a superior mixer with 20 channels, each of which has a direct output for track laying plus 2 output groups for summing, 

This A series started life as a console extender that has been converted into a recording /summing mixer by CADAC specialist GWYN MATHIAS who is himself a Cadac owner with over 30 years experience working with, and on, Cadac consoles :

This Cadac A Series summing mixer comprises 20 mic/line input modules each with 3 band fully parametric EQ and 6 aux sends plus 2 group modules providing the main stereo output, 1 Aux master module & 1 Communications module. The input modules have LUNDAHL transformers on the direct outputs ( see * note below ) and there are MARINAIR transformers on the mix buss outputs.

The Cadac A Series has high performance transformerless mic amps which provide excellent audio signals, ideal as a sound source for your DAW. The line inputs use the same superb circuitry. The parametric EQ provides boost/cut. frequency and bandwidth controls while all 6 aux sends have individual pre/post fader switches.

Cadac consoles are noted for their superb build quality as well as their superior audio performance, furthermore any A Series mixer such as this one can be enlarged by adding a further buckets of modules as they can be chained together, one set of power supplies is capable of running over 50 modules.

 * Each channel is fitted  with a LUNDAHL Transformer as standard which is on the direct output and which is taken pre EQ allowing the direct output to have a clean feed while the channel signal being routed to the mix buss may be EQ'd. Gwyn has modifyied the modules so that when the EQ is switched in the direct output transformer is sent post EQ.  

Cadac consoles are manufactured to a very high standard using some military spec plus high tech connectors, CADAC A Series consoles can be linked together when more channels are required in a live situation for instance. The power supplies on this desk can power up to 56 modules. The modules are constructed in a modular way which assists in servicing the modules.   

The prices of Helios consoles have gone through the roof recently, particularly in the USA, at the moment the Americans have not yet discovered CADAC consoles when they do the prices of these great consoles may also follow those of the Helios - another great UK recording console.
